Member Spotlight: Zaidha Roscoe

Oct 25, 2024 | Member Spotlight

This month, we’re excited to introduce Nature’s Blueprint member, coach and facilitator Zaidha Roscoe.

Zaidha is a coach and facilitator with a career background in independent retail. She is a passionate advocate for regenerative change both within our physical environments and ecosystems, our communities and most crucially within ourselves. She is gifted in empowering individuals to recognise their own unique strengths, values, gifts and talents and harness them to bring about change right where they are.

What inspired you to join Nature’s Blueprint?

I have always loved being outdoors and felt a real affinity with our natural world. When I first heard about NB I instantly felt really excited about it despite the fact I felt totally unqualified and wondered if I would have enough to contribute. But I had promised myself after a really long health journey that once I got well I was going to take every opportunity I could to do things I love and to explore all the exciting things I feel drawn to, so in I jumped and I’ve loved every minute of it!

How do you integrate Nature into your everyday work or life?

I am extremely fortunate to live in a rural farming area and have the most gorgeous country lane on my doorstep so I make sure I get out for a walk every day even if its just a quick 15 minute breather. I love seeing the sights and smells as they change with the seasons and the sunsets are something else! I’m also extremely fortunate to have a caravan on Lake Windermere so I spend as much time as I can up there, wandering the fells and woodlands and generally faffing about (the word ‘swim’ is generous!!) in any natural water I can find!

What specific projects or initiatives are you currently working on that you are excited about?

This year in May, fellow members Clare Wild, Lucy Williamson and I had the privilege of holding the first Northern Event up at Leighton Hall which was just amazing! It felt really special to be able to bring this up North, I wish we could do it every day but we have booked the next one for 9th May 2025.

I’ve also been lucky enough to work on the wellbeing team for a brilliant charity called Mind Over Mountains which brings together walking in nature, mindfulness and time with experienced coaches and counsellors on both day walks and retreats. It been both awe inspiring and incredibly humbling witnessing time and again how quickly people start to heal and transform given the right support in the right environment, it reminds me every time that we ARE nature. We need it and it needs us!

And finally, I’m excited to be launching a hybrid group and 1:1 coaching programme for businesses that will involve an outdoor session so I cant wait to see how that works!!

Can you share a memorable experience you’ve had in Nature that significantly influenced your career or personal life?

Gosh thats hard! There have been so many!! I would say going down to Lyme Regis two years ago for Annie’s Walk on the Wild Side Retreat was pretty pivotal. It’s too long a story to share here but those few days immersed in nature, on the beach, in the woods, on the headlands and faffing about in the sea with the most incredible group of people both influenced and directly changed the course of my career and life.

From your perspective, what is the most challenging aspect of your work?

Managing my energy and being realistic about what is physically impossible to achieve in a day. There is so much I’d love to do that my mind and heart are often still saying yes when my body is telling me the energy bank is seriously overdrawn!!

How do you overcome it?

I’m still learning but scheduling down time, disconnecting from tech and reconnecting with nature.

Are there any specific skills or expertise you’re looking for that other Nature’s Blueprint members may be able to help with?

Nothing specific right now but I am extremely grateful for this amazing and extremely generous community and to be able to learn from everyones diverse knowledge and experience.

We believe that humans have an extraordinary capacity to problem solve & innovate. What gives you HOPE?

Watching our landscape from season to season and seeing the processes nature goes through reminds me that it doesn’t quit. It keeps growing and it keeps going and tries to regenerate again and again and again. I look our neighbours roses that find a way every year to poke through a tiny crack in the fence and bloom, or big old trees with branches growing in all sorts of crazy angles. It might have lost one and had to change direction completely, but it keeps going and it always finds a way and so can we!!

We hope you found this Member Spotlight interesting. Do connect with Zaidha if anything she has shared resonates with you and you’d like to know more – you can find Zaidha on LinkedIn here >
